Our Creative Expression pillar provides platforms for local artists to showcase their talents, celebrates Ypsilanti's unique culture, and creates opportunities for community members to engage with the arts. From visual artists to musicians, performers to cultural celebrations, we believe in the power of creativity to bring people together.
Through events like "Showcasing the Arts 'For Good'" and the Legend of the Smeet Frog Festival, we co-create experiences that foster expression coupled with opportunities to network and build community.
Regular exhibitions providing space for visual artists, painters, and creators to display their work and connect with the community.
Hip-hop showcases, live music events, and performance opportunities for local musicians to share their talents.
Platforms for fashion designers and models to showcase their creative work and celebrate personal expression.

Fun, inclusive events including show-tunes inspired karaoke where everyone can express themselves through music.

Creating a space for young people attending the Ypsi Pride Day event, along with co-collaborators, to empower expression and joy. This annual celebration has become a cornerstone of inclusive community gathering in Ypsilanti.

A celebration of Ypsilanti's beloved local legend, the Smeet Frog—supposedly the only amphibian possessing a fur coat and capable of flight! This free music festival featured performances by Messy J & Codini (Electric Boogie Fun), 1 Herb, and SUPX, with art activities for all ages.
